Asante Kotoko have been officially emerged Ghana Premier League 2021/2022 champions after beating relegated side, Elmina Sharks 3-0 on match day 33 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Premier League giant avenged a 2-1 loss to Elmina Sharks in the first round with a brace from Cameroonian striker Georges Mfegue and another from Imoro Ibrahim.
Kotoko started brightly and dominated play as they created alot of chances in the first 45 minutes but missed most of the opportunities.
The porcupine warriors took the lead with a sublime freekick from inform Ibrahim Imoro in the 25 minutes.
The Fabulous boys took control of the game after a round of play in the second half and punished the Sharks with a second goal in the 79th minute.
Mfegue scored from close range to double the lead after a rebound.
Asante Kotoko on the other hand, climbed back on the score sheet in the 86th minute with their third goal.
It was Georges Mfegue’s second goal to give the Porcupine Warriors the victory.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play their last game against Accra Lions on matchday 34 as they prepare to represent Ghana in the upcoming season’s CAF Champions League
