Ghana Premier League side, Accra Hearts of Oak, has announced Dutch trainer Martin Koopman as the club’s new head coach ahead of the new season.
The Phobians confirmed the appointment of the 67-year-old on Thursday night having been introduced to the squad before their pre-season fixture against Miracle Land Football Club.
Koopman replaces Slavko Matic as the club’s permanent gaffer following the departure of interim coach David Ocloo at the end of the 2022/23 season.
The Dutchman had been in Ghana from last weekend ahead of his new job with the Ghana Premier League only a month away from starting.
Koopman will work under Rene Hiddink, who was last month appointed as the technical director of the club.
The 67-year-old enjoyed stints with AS Vita Club, FC Den Bosch, and BV Veendam in the past.
