Head coach of West Africa Football Academy Prosper Narteh Ogum is set to be announced as the new trainer of Tarkwa-based Ghanaian top-flight outfit Medeama SC.
According to reports fast gaining roots on the domestic scene, the University lecturer cum football tactician will be replacing ex-Ghanaian internationals Yaw Preko and Yaw Acheampong as head coach of the two-time winners of the MTN FA Cup.
The Mauves and Yellow are coming off the back of an underwhelming season, where they failed to annex any silverware despite the massive cash injection and recruitment of A-listed players.
In what was deemed to be the season that will see Medeama clinch their long awaited maiden league trophy hit a snag with the resignation of Samuel Boadu – who swapped Tarkwa for the capital to lead Hearts of Oak – former Ghanaian internationals Yaw Preko and Yaw Acheampong took over and staged what proved to be a flash in the pan attempt at the league title and the rest has been nothing short but chaos and rancour in the camp of Medeama.
With Yaw-and-Yaw nearing the exit door Medeama have set their sights on Prosper Narteh Ogum, who led WAFA to a respectable third position finish, ahead of two-time Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars, Great Olympics, Ashgold and potential employers Medeama in the just ended Ghanaian top tier.
