The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has agreed to pay $100,000 sign-on fee and a monthly salary of $30,000 with Milovan Rajevac, according to Joy Sports report.

The new Black Stars coach will be paid his sign-on fee of $100,000 within three months, latest December 31, 2021, after accepting an offer to replace CK Akonnor as head coach of the senior national team.

The Serbian will also be on $30,000 per month as salary, sources close to negotiators have said.

Information available to Joy Sports earlier suggested the FA were negotiating a salary of about $45,000 per month with the former Algeria coach, but new details shows he will be on $30,000 instead after the football governing body won the battle at the negotiation table.

We understand a contract of agreement between the Ghana FA and Milovan Rajevac came into effect on September 20, 2021, and will end on September 19, 2022.

‘Milo’ arrived in the country and commenced work on Monday as stipulated in their agreement though he is yet to be officially announced by the GFA.

The contract of agreement though ends on September 20, 2022, it is expected to be automatically extended until February 28, 2023, sources added.

Joy Sports reported Milovan was the leading candidate for the Black Stars job on September 14. His contract was prepared on September 15, 2021, and came into effect on September 20, per sources close to the GFA.

He will earn twice the winning bonus of players per match based on the agreement. Sources say, it has been the practice and the FA intend to continue same.

It is unclear how much will be paid as qualification bonuses if he wins AFCON 2022 in Cameroon or qualifies for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he could be paid same amount that was given to Kwasi Appiah when he qualified the national team to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Appiah received $300,000 package, and sources say, Milovan could receive same.

If he wins next AFCON in Cameroon, too, he will be paid $300,000, as a bonus for the success.

Joy Sports cannot state categorically if these financial agreements have been approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, though sources say, the Ministry have received a copy of the contract signed between the two parties.

It was delivered on Thursday, September 23, 2021, and the Ministry is expected to meet and discuss the terms agreed with the coach before reverting to the football association with a decision reached.

Checks revealed the Ministry have indeed received the contract of agreement between the GFA and Milovan, but sources are tight lipped on the monetary terms.

Voices, however, are that the GFA concluded details with Milovan Rajevac without the inputs of the Ministry.

Milovan Rajevac is making a return to coach Black Stars having led the country to the quarter-final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Before that, Ghana reached the final of the maiden edition of CHAN in 2009 and the final of AFCON 2010, losing 1-0 to Egypt under his tutelage.

He left his role on September 8, 2010, after receiving an offer from Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia that guaranteed him $2 million per year.

He is making return to the country after almost 11 years.

He is expected to work alongside Otto Addo as his first assistant. But it is unclear who will be his second assistant as Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu and head of football at Right to Dream Academy, Masud Didi Dramani are all considered for the role as reported earlier by Joy Sports.

Milovan’s first assignment is a double world cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
