The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has tentatively fixed Saturday December 17, 2022 for its Annual Congress and Elective Congress, respectively at the Trust Sports Emporium Arena Bukom, Accra.
A statement signed by M.B Sahnoon, Secretary General of the GOC, said the meeting will see to the discussion of issues relevant to the development of sports in the country and Election of the 1st Vice President of GOC at its forthcoming Congress and Elective on Saturday.
The late 1st Vice President of GOC Mr. Paul Kodjoe Atchoe who passed on July 20, 2022 was also the Ghana Volleyball Federation (GVF) President made the sit became vacate.
A close source on the table of Ghsportsnews.com indicates that, Mr. Mohammed Adjei Sowah, former A.M.A boss and the President of Ghana Table Tennis Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu are to battle for the vacate first vice president of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
Ahead of Saturday’s Annual Congress and Elective Congress, former Secretary General of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Richard Akpokavie Esq has endorsed the candidature of Mawuko Afadzinu for the vacate first Vice President of the GOC.
He stressed in a write-up that, “My cherished Sports Institution, the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), which I served for many years, will be going to Congress on Saturday, December 17, 2023”.
“A key item on the agenda is the by-election for the position of the 1st Vice-President.
I fully endorse Mawuko Afadzinu, President of the Table Tennis Federation, for the position of 1st Vice-President. A vote for Mawuko is a vote for an enhanced GOC.
As I wish the General Assembly a successful Congress, I call on All to support and vote for Mawuko Afadzinu”.
