Two late goals from Ibrahim Salifu and Linda Mtange propelled Hearts of Oak to an emphatic 2-0 win over King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium in week 29.
King Faisal’s Benjamin Asiedu was called into action in as early as just four minutes from kickoff dealing with a hit from Linda Mtange.
Quick response on the 11th minute as Baba Yahaya hits a strong one but was deflected out for a wasted corner kick.
Beautiful combination from Linda, Baafi and Gideon Asante to launch in a decent cross but was checked by the King Faisal backline.
The visitors also from the other side were launching so much pressure in search of the opener but finding their way through was a huge problem
In the second half, Hearts of Oak made two quick substitutions hoping to turn things around and snatch all three points with the introduction of Ibrahim Salifu and Albert Eonde.
The ‘Insha Allah’ outfit with a chance on the 58th minute but were denied by Richard Attah- who rose high once again to grab the corner kick.
Eric Esso played Dennis Korsah through on the left with a decent pass, the latter followed up with a cross to locate Eonde but arrived late to pick up the pass.
The ‘Phobians’ finally snatched the lead on the 89th minute through Ibrahim Salifu ended up on a fine build up play to chip over the goalkeeper. It was coming.
Just few minutes after, Linda Mtange doubled the lead after tapping into the net from Albert Eonde’s cross. It ended 2-0 for Hearts of Oak.
