The President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, Herbert Mensah has heaped kind words on Ghana skipper, Selom Gavor as the best captain he has ever work with in Ghana Rugby.
Speaking with the press after the Africa Rugby Pre- World Cup Qualifiers yesterday at Paa Joe park, Kumasi, the former Asante Kotoko CEO did not mince words in celebrating his new skipper.
“I have been in Ghana Rugby for this years, is this last year and half that I have somebody, I called a captain.
In Kotoko I have Godwin Ablordey, he was a captain, is not who is the best players but they are leaders, they bring people together, the work on the problems of the players, they understand what the coach, the TM wants and the understand the financial difficulties of the Board Chairman and the Board, the Directors and what the investments have. Selom Gavor is extraordinary character and I say that, we are like to have such a character as we go”.
Meanwhile, both Ghana’s Male and Female National teams have advanced to the second round of qualifying round.
The tournament serves as the route for countries to book their places in the final qualifying round which will be held at Tunisia April next year, which means winners will progress to the final round.
