Ghanaian boxer Sena Agbeko “The African Assassin” will fight Cuban boxer WBA World Super Middleweight champion David Morell on Saturday, April 22.
The fight will take place on the undercard of the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Agbeko goes into the bout on the back of a three fight winning streak with the last coming against tough American challenger Isaiah Steen via a unanimous decision.
The 31 year old Ghanaian takes on the highly rated 25 year old southpaw who has won seven of his eight professional bouts via knockout.
Like many Cuban boxers, Morrell has an impressive amateur career that had him score 130 wins and two losses en route to winning the 2016 Youth World Championship.
Agbeko beat Winfred Harris Jr. in 2022 to capture the WBC Super Middleweight title but the upcoming fight is his first major title bout.
With 27 wins and two losses, the more experienced Agbeko is hoping to win Ghana a world title after featherweight contender Isaac Dogboe missed out on the WBO title after suffering a loss to Robeisy Ramirez.
