Sheriff Quaye Is the new WBO Africa Lightweight Champion after he stopped Emmanuel Amos of Tanzania in round 3
Sheriff Quaye aka ‘One Time’ stopped Emmanuel Amos of Tanzania in round 3 to win the WBO Africa Lightweight title at the Golden Beach Hotel also known as Royal Dede Resort on Friday night.
MP for Odododiodoo, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuije and the WBO Africa President, Samir Captan decorated him with the new belt.
The venue was very cool for boxing and fans had much to cheer about with the exciting bouts put together by Swavy Blu and Bronx Boxing Promotions.
All the boxers from the Bronx Boxing Gym who featured gave very good account of themselves. Daniel Gosh, Emmanuel Quartey said Felix Nunoo were a delight to watch. Joshua Laryea also put up a great performance against experienced Ben Ankrah aka ‘Congo Soldier’.
New Champion Sheriff Quaye said his focus is now on the world title, so he will concentrate on the big opponents in the world to realize his dream of becoming a world champion.
Amos who said he had prepared well for the fight was often at the receiving end and had to be counted several times till he was dropped and decided to give up.
Coach Carl Lokko was very elated that he has won another WBO Africa title and thanked the fans who came to support them.
