The Security Showdown: Coaches Stoke Excitement Ahead of Army Ladies vs. Police Ladies Showdown in FA Cup Grand Finale
Army Ladies and Police Ladies will contest the Women’s FA Cup final in the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legon.
Army Ladies beat Epiphany FC 2-1 to reach the title match for the first time and Police Ladies won by 3-1 against Supreme Ladies, whose hopes of capturing their first ever FA cup title.
This is what Army Ladies assistant Coach,Coach Benedictus Wusawyer Abane (SVB) has to say;…..
“I do the Job for my head coach. So I just been going around giving him the tactical advice with my other colleagues”.
“Just expect team work, dedication, technically and tactical game”.
Army Ladies deputy Captain Adama Alhassan said.…..
“First of all, I’m proud of my team, am proud of the nation and proud of the coaches. But we can’t do it without discipline, dedication and determination as said by my coach. So we have fought very hard to reach this place”.
“Am proud of the team in a sense that, we have been to the semi- finals two consecutive times and we lost, with Ampem Darkoa, same team and now by the Grace of God, we have reached the finals with Police Ladies”.
“It’s not going to be easy because, police last year, they were beaten by Ampen Darkoa at the same stage. We are also coming because, we have also suffered for two times and i know, it’s not going to be easy game but working together as a team, we will win the trophy”.
Police Ladies head coach Abu Kassim has this for Army Ladies team…..
“We have been winning against them, so if we lose is normal but when we win, we have won”.
“There’s one thing Ghanian football lovers don’t know about this two teams, even before the commence of the women’s premier league, there have been fear rivalry between Army and the Police in the Ghana’s Security Services Sports Association (SESSA) Games, Currently we were the last team to beat Army both Men and women in football, in the SESSA Games and we are still the defending Champions”.
“So whatever they been doing this time around, they’re trying to avenge those defeats, but ten times defeats can not compensated the SESSA Games one defeat”.
“So for me as a coach, no pressure, and i have transmitted same into the players mindset, this is just a game, especially, we playing we the security services”.
“When Army win, i will celebrate with them, when i win, i hope they will celebrate with me, because in the end, we are class us one, security personnel”.
Police Ladies, previous champions in 2016, are aiming for their second title win, while Army Ladies are making their inaugural appearance in the final and are eager to clinch the prestigious trophy for the first time in their history.
