Top Ghanaian Football Administrator Accuses the GFA of Planning To Squander FIFA Covid-19 Relief Fund
The Chief Executive Officer of Division One league side, Berekum Arsenal, Yakubu Moro has revealed that the GFA President, Kurt Okraku is devicing means of misappropriating the Covid-19 relief fund.
The Ghana football Association has announced a sum of $360,000 that has been allocated to all Division One League clubs from the FIFA Covid-19 fund.
The 48 clubs will pocket $7500 each from the fund. An initial amount of $240,000.00 will be shared amongst the clubs this month with the remaining $120,000.00 to come in January 2021.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Light FM, Alhaji Moro said; “How they shared the money wasn’t good, that’s why many people are talking about it. We haven’t played a consistent league for almost 3 years and you apportion $7500 to division one clubs.
They just want a way to claim all the money and chop that is why they are bringing out these lies including monies to the National Teams and the Media.”
He further edged all clubs to reject any amount being given by the football association.
“I am advicing all the clubs not to collect the money and let them take it all.”
