Chief Executive officer of Berry ladies Dr. Gifty Oware-Aboagye has revealed that her mission of buying a female club is to ensure female footballers do not act like men despite the profession they find themselves in.
Female footballer’s mostly across the African continent and especially in Ghana do not dress decently even off the pitch,a development the astute female football administrator wants to help change.
The sort of hair cut and attire these female players wear sometimes raises a lot of questions about their sexuality and gender.
Speaking to Untoldstories TV GH, Dr.Gifty Oware -Aboagye who also double as a management member of the black maiden’s and board member of Berekum Chelsea, insists the current wind blowing at Berry ladies formerly Halifax ladies is to make sure the female players see themselves as women but not men both on and off the field.
“It’s been difficult bringing about some of these changes at the club because I told the players there is the need to identify who they are which is they are all women and as such they need to act like pretty ladies even off the pitch”
“Some of them couldn’t stand it so they had to leave the club but gradually they have now adapted to it and its good for them and the club as a whole” Dr. Gifty Oware-Aboagye told Untoldstories TV GH.
“That is the major changes we are bringing into the women’s game in the country and honestly it’s paying off because potential sponsors are happy with what we’re doing “She added.
