Aduana Stars defender Caleb Amankwah has stressed his outfit will beat capital-based outfit Hearts of Oak a day before the 2020/21 domestic league commences.
The Dormaa-based side will lock horns against Hearts of Oak, the oldest exisiting football club in Ghana, in a titanic duel on the season opener at the Nana Agyemang Badu I park on Saturday.
Both sides have been tagged as title chasers however, Aduana Stars, who have carved a niche for themselves as one of the most difficult sides to beat at home, are looking forward to maintain the status quo in Dormaa despite the determination from the Accra-based powerhouse to end their trophy-less run this season.
Speaking to Kumasi-based media outlet Light FM, Caleb Amankwah, formerly of West African Football Academy was upbeat about the chances of Aduana Stars against the Phobians.
“It will never happen for Hearts of Oak to grind results at Dormaa. We will beat them hands down without fear or favor.”
“We have prepared very well for this season and surely will achieve our target of winning the league. That’s our main priority.”
When quizzed about the departure of key cog Elvis Opoku, Amankwah retorted:
“Elvis Opoku’s exclusion from our squad this season won’t affect us in any way. We equally have good players to replace him.
