West Ham United and Ghana Super Star Mohammed Kudus has picked Nigeria icon Jay Jay Okocha as his greatest African footballer of all time.
The West Ham United midfielder says he sees a lot of similarities between one of the greatest entertainers in football history.
Okocha, often regarded as one of the most skilful footballers of his generation, had a stellar career playing for Nigeria between 1993 and 2006.
As part of the Super Eagles squad, they won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and gold at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.
He is one of Africa’s greatest players and had stints with top European clubs, including Eintracht Frankfurt, Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahce, and Bolton Wanderers.
Many have considered Okocha as their icon and Kudus is no exception.
“I will say Jay Jay Okocha. I will say explaining from my lens how I see creative players and entertain. That can never be washed away and the fans can never forget that,” Kudus told Sky Sports.
Mohammed Kudus has been on fire this season for West Ham, scoring 16 goals across all competitions in 38 games in his first season.
