Whoever Planned Trip To Algeria Has Caused Financial Loss To Ghana – GFA ExCo Member Slams Hearts After CAF CC Shameful Exit
Ghana Football Association Executive Council member Samuel Anim Addo has slammed the planners of Hearts of Oak’s trip to Algeria.
Hearts of Oak, who held a two-nil advantage prior to their reverse fixture against Algerian minnows JS Saoura, used a lengthy approach to arrive at their destination in the Béchar province in Algeria.
The reigning Ghanaian champions left the shores of Ghana last Wednesday, arrived in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, then Turkey as well as Oran before arriving in the Algerian capital Algiers and their final destination before playing on Sunday.
What ensued after ninety minutes of football was an eyesore and an apology to the status and level of Ghana as a football nation and a competitor on the continent as the Phobians were brushed aside in a four nil drubbing.
A spiritless output by the players even infuriated Team Manager and Physical Trainer W.O Tandoh in a video footage which has since gone viral with the former Aduana Stars trainer tongue-lashing the players on the field.
The playing body most especially goalkeeper Richard Baidoo has since come under serious backlash for his lackluster display in between the sticks while coach Samuel Boadu has also not been spared for his inept game management skills.
But taking a completely different angle, experienced football administrator and owner of Division One League outfit Young Apostles has questioned the management cum planning committee for the African trip.
“Whoever planned Hearts of Oak’s trip to Algeria, caused financial loss to Ghana,” he said in no uncertain terms in a radio interview with Accra-based Asempa FM.
News from the grapevine suggest former Member of Parliament of La Dadekotopon, Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei was the chairman of the Planning Committee – which was not in the public until the botched continental excapade – for their African campaign.
Meanwhile the Phobians are billed to arrive in the country on Friday.
