Wilfred Osei Palmer Wins Heavyweight Bout Against George Afriyie As Tema Youth Edge Susubiribi SC In Epic Five-goal Thriller

Tema Youth SC pipped Susubiribi in an enthralling five-goal thriller on Saturday afternoon at the Red Bull Arena, Sogakope.

In a battle of clubs owned by bigwigs in the Ghanaian football ecosystem it was former Black Stars Management Committee chairman, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer whose Tema Youth SC outfit handed a 3-2 defeat to erstwhile Ghana Football Association vice president, George Afriyie’s Susubiribi SC.

Tema Youth, who have endured a stop-start campaign in the ongoing Division One League had all to fight for when they hosted second-placed Susubiribi SC at their new fortress.

Goals from the ever irrepressible Stephen Appiah Asare, Jeremiah Akorful and Emmanuel Mamah gave the Harbour Warriors the bragging rights and most importantly securing the three points at stake.

With the game pegged at 2-2 and tilting towards a draw, Emmanuel Mamah elected himself as the hero for the homesters with a last-gasp screamer to help Tema Youth secure all three points.

The home side will hope the victory over George Afriyie’s high-flying Susubiribi SC will be the stepping stone to rake in series of good results as they aim for qualification to the elite division after missing out narrowly last season to Accra Lions.
