Vision FC’s outstanding players were honored at the maiden edition of the Player of the Year Awards, with Gideon Offei and Labaran Alidu scooping the top prizes. The event took place at the Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Emmanuel Kyei Baffour emerged as the biggest winner of the night, grabbing the Player of the Season award for his exceptional performances throughout the campaign.
The event was attended by 340 people and hosted by presenter Benjamin Willie Graham, with Ghana Football Association president Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku as the guest speaker. Guests enjoyed dinner while the awards were handed out, with musical interludes in between.
Ten awards were given out to celebrate the efforts and achievements of the outstanding performers.
The first award of the evening was the Goal of the Season Award, won by Gideon Offei for his goal against Akatsi All Stars.
Emmanuel Kyei Baffour won the Player of the Season award, while youngster Labaran Majeed Alidu won the Young Player of the Season award. The Young Player of the Season award comes with a one-month training tour to Finland, sponsored by the club’s new partner, SJK Seinajoki.
The President’s Special Award went to the late Fitness Coach, Roy Ricky Romeo, while Hamza Obeng Mohammed and Gideon Offei received Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Obeng, who took charge just a year and a half ago, steered Vision FC through a challenging season, overseeing 45 intense matches.
With a commanding record of 24 wins, 11 draws, and 10 defeats, he guided the team with his technical nous and competence.
