The Women’s Premier League commenced on 16th January, 2021 across both zones.
Northern Ladies Fc started the season on a brighter note by recording a comfortable victory away from home against Ashtown Ladies Fc in Kumasi, beating them 3 – 1. The Technical Team and the Playing body could not hide their happiness.
The performance of Jafar Rahama in the match made the victory more joyous. The Black Princesses winger put up her usual five star performance in the match to give fans and spectators hope that she is ready for the battle in the absence of Abdulai Mukarama. She won a spot kick for Northern Ladies Fc on the 3rd minute of the match and was successful in almost all her dribbles.
Jafar Rahama plays as a winger, both left and right and can also play as a Center Forward. She is best known for her pace and dribbling skills. Some football fans refer to her as ‘Messi’ in women’s football because of her dribbling skills. Others call her ‘CR7’ because of her pace and ability to score from distance.
It is believed that Jafar Rahama will carry Northern Ladies Fc on her shoulders in this season’s league in the absence of Abdulai Mukarama.
Northern Ladies Fc will welcome Kumasi Sports Academy (KUSA) at Aliu Mahama Stadium on Friday, 22nd January, 2021.
